Description:

This position will be responsible for managing and supervising all aspects of service operation, under the guidance of the store manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure excellent internal and external customer service and communication
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively work with a team
  • Remain alert and attentive to job duties and safety
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, monitoring, & evaluating staff
  • Supervise all service personnel & operations
  • Ensure & / or demonstrate application of mechanical expertise
  • Ensure & /or demonstrate application of computer application expertise
  • Organize work for efficient & quality operation
  • Assign tasks, schedule work hours
  • Monitor inventory levels
  • Promote/ assist with parts sales
  • Maintain knowledge of all service processes & equipment
  • Direct or participate with giving repair estimates
  • Oversee and/or perform repair work & necessary scheduled maintenance
  • Ensure neat, clean, attractive appearance & safety of service area
  • Trouble-shoot problems
  • Provide feedback/ operating reports for store manager
  • Maintain adherence of Company policies / procedures
  • Prompt attendance & neat appearance
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by the Store Manager

Qualifications:

  • High school degree or equivalent work experience
  • Mechanical aptitude/ skills/ knowledge
  • Excellent organizational, scheduling, & communication skills
  • Excellent leadership & supervisory abilities (ability to lead & supervise several mechanics)
  • Excellent customer/ shop service commitment
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Able to stoop, bend, twist, push & pull
  • Able to reach & lift overhead
  • Able to go up & down steps
  • Able to remain alert & attentive to job duties
  • Own tools
  • Basic arithmetic skills
  • Ability to read / understand books/ catalogs/ diagrams
  • Ability to troubleshoot preferred
  • Knowledge of & ability to utilize service/mechanical tools & devices preferred
  • Ability to conduct thorough truck inspections & repair functions preferred
  • Proficiency with Computer Applications (including but not limited to diagnostics, training, vendor websites) preferred
  • Microsoft Office knowledge/experience preferred
  • Post-offer physical examination required as condition of employment

Additional Preferences:

  • Valid CDL and good driving record
